PatientPing Community Comes to Texas Through Partnership with Houston Methodist
Boston, MA (July 11, 2017) – PatientPing, a health technology company that connects providers to seamlessly coordinate patient care, announced today it has partnered with Houston Methodist Coordinated Care, an Accountable Care Organization affiliated with Houston Methodist. This partnership means that providers throughout Houston and its surrounding communities, as well as across states, will be notified when their patients are admitted, discharged or transferred to/from all eight Houston Methodist hospitals, allowing for timely intervention and overall higher quality care for patients.
“This will allow us to coordinate patient-centric care across the continuum of health care facilities from hospitals, emergency care centers, urgent care centers, skilled nursing facilities, and post-acute care facilities to enhance our patients’ care,” said Julia Andrieni, M.D., president and CEO of Houston Methodist Coordinated Care.
Upon joining PatientPing, providers receive real-time notifications, or “Pings,” whenever their patients receive care at a wide range of health facilities in Houston and beyond. By receiving real-time information about a patient’s medical history, health care team providers can engage and coordinate during the patient’s health care event, prevent duplication of services, reduce avoidable readmissions, and ensure safer care transitions. Patients get care from many providers; PatientPing makes it easy for them to coordinate with one another.
“We could not be more excited to connect providers in Texas so they can more easily serve their patients,” said Jay Desai, co-founder & CEO, PatientPing. “Launching Texas with a group as innovative as Houston Methodist Coordinated Care will no doubt spark a movement of providers hungry to transcend institutional boundaries by working together on shared patients, no matter where they receive care.”
PatientPing’s network includes tens of thousands of providers nationwide. In December 2016, PatientPing announced $31.6 million funding led by Andreessen Horowitz. PatientPing is rapidly accelerating its nationwide expansion so that any providers who share patients anywhere in the country can coordinate with one another.
