PatientPing Names Former Spotify Executive as Head of Product

Dave Rodger to Drive Product Development for Health Technology Company

Boston, MA (September 12, 2017) –  PatientPing, a health technology company connecting providers to better coordinate care, today announced the hire of Dave Rodger as Head of Product. Rodger comes to PatientPing from Spotify, where he served as the Vice President of Product, and focused on driving increased listening to the platform through programming, personalization and recommendations.

At PatientPing, Rodger will drive product development to help the company continue to expand their provider base and further build their national care coordination network. He will lead the product team out of PatientPing’s growing Boston headquarters, leveraging his product management expertise to continue delighting PatientPing’s customers with products that deliver more value and simplify the hard work of providing high-quality patient care.

“Dave’s experience at cutting-edge consumer-tech product companies is an essential addition to our executive leadership team,” said PatientPing CEO, Jay Desai.

“I feel strongly that healthcare providers should enjoy as high-quality an experience at work with technology as we do in our personal lives on our smartphone and web apps. The reason we love products like Instagram, Facebook and Google is because they develop profound empathy for their users and build processes internally to improve their products extremely rapidly. Dave has led product development at companies like Spotify and TripAdvisor – that approach coupled with the deep healthcare expertise at PatientPing allows us to continuously improve the experience for the thousands of users that rely on us to seamlessly coordinate patient care.”
“The opportunity to connect providers, caregivers and the rest of the super-complicated ecosystem of health care today is immense,” said PatientPing Head of Product, Dave Rodger. “PatientPing has already started this with a great product that uniquely addresses the demands and needs amongst providers when it comes to care coordination. I’m excited to dig in with the team and build on that great foundation to help fuel our rapid growth.”

Rodger was hired by The Echo Nest in 2011 where he helped the company transition from a data licensing company to a SaaS provider of APIs that deliver music features and intelligence. The Echo Nest was acquired by Spotify in 2014 where Rodger took the role of Vice President of Product and built products for millions of Spotify users. Rodger has also held leadership positions with both TripAdvisor and SimpleTuition. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University.

PatientPing’s network includes thousands of providers nationwide. The company is backed by Andreessen Horowitz and Google Ventures and is rapidly accelerating its nationwide expansion so that providers, anywhere in the country, can coordinate with one another on shared patients.
