A patient may opt-out of sharing his or her information with the PatientPing Network by completing the Request to Opt-Out Form.

If a patient has previously opted-out and they want to opt back in he or she may do so by completing the Request to Opt-In Form.

What is PatientPing?

What are the Benefits of sharing my health information with the PatientPing Network?

PatientPing is focused on providing a network of engaged organizations that are sharing information, coordinating care, and working together to improve your care. PatientPing enables the providers who care for you to collaborate on shared patients and provides them with information on your team of providers and your visit history to improve your quality of care. This has been proven to reduce cost through higher-quality patient care.

How is My Health Information Shared?

Your health information can be shared with healthcare providers (skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies, hospitals, primary care providers, accountable care organizations, etc) and health insurance organizations. Those entities can only access your information if they are covered entities, as defined by HIPAA (or, in certain circumstances, business associates providing services to covered entities) and solely if they have an active treatment or payment relationship with you. In order for your information to be shared the entity must enter into an agreement with PatientPing, including a business associate agreement, which restricts their use of the information to treatment, payment, or healthcare operations purposes, as each is defined by HIPAA.

How is My Health Information Protected?

We operate entirely within the privacy and security requirements set forth within HIPAA, including the encryption of all data in transit and at rest. PatientPing is subjected to annual third-party audits of its security practices and architecture. We observe all local statutes with regards to handling sensitive data categories where required.

How Can I Opt-Out?

Sharing your data with the PatientPing network is encouraged. But if you prefer, you can choose not to share your data with the PatientPing network. This is called opting-out.

Though we try to process all requests quickly this process can take five to seven business days to take effect.

What If I Opt-Out?

What opting out does prevent:

  • Sharing your health information with the PatientPing network moving forward

What opting out does not prevent:

  • Opting out will not prevent my hospital or healthcare provider from sharing my health information, including health record information, with other treating providers or entities via means other than the PatientPing platform.

  • Opting out will prevent those in the PatientPing network from seeing data was already shared with them prior to the effective date of this form

  • Opting out will not prevent PatientPing from storing your health information

  • Opting out will not prevent PatientPing from using your data in de-identified and/or data aggregation analysis

What if I Want to Opt Back In?

If you want to opt back into sharing your data with the PatientPing network, your healthcare providers and other covered entities will once more be able to access your health information, including information that was previously blocked by your opt-out (at any time you can choose to opt-out again).
